Deli Express @ Velachery

Deli Express is an attempt to cater the taste buds of velachery people, who love briyani.

Interiors

The outlet is a 16′ x 25′, air tight (no AC as of now, but I was told that it will be installed soon) dine in. Very decent interiors, 6 full speed ceiling fans, black stone tables, short and precise menu. They serve mineral water as well as Branded mineral water for those brand concious.

Jack Daniel ?

Wanna mix? buy a pepsi and sprite, mix 10% of pepsi in 70% of sprite, you get Jack Daniel look-alike excluding alcohol. Mix more and you get Royal Challenge look-alike excluding alcohol. Anyway, thats a good fun actually.

Menu

Back to review. Deli Express offers briyani in Kilos for family events, regular take-aways and Dine in. Take aways costs Rs.2 more than dine-in menu. Its a briyani outlet, so their menu offers Veg, Chicken, Mutton, Fish and Prawn Briyani. In starters, you will find Veg rolls, chicken rolls, fish rolls etc. No soups.

Chicken 65 boneless, Chicken 65 and Fish Fry are extra add-ons.

Serving

Briyani is served in limited quantities, weighs around 200gms i guess. Standard sidekicks, the brinjal chatni and onion raitha are served in two small cups. And yeah, the sidekicks are unlimited. Egg is served in non-veg briyanis.

The Taste

The success of a briyani, is determined by the taste and dhum.. Well, Deli Express positions itself on a decent scale that pleases those who like to have food from a good looking restaurant. I find nothing terrific. Stands between mughal style briyani.. and chettinad style briyani.

Conclusion

Deli Express - for those who want to eat briyani, and dont care much about the taste. I will hop to Thalapakattu, which is better in taste. And only if thalapakattu is full, I may park my bike at Deli Express. Btw, the pricing is decent. Every dish costs around Rs.50.

PS : Guys, Deli Express is next to ALLSEC! ;-)
